Havering Council has proposed a new water sports facility opposite the Veolia landfill in Rainham. Though no formal application has been submitted yet, the plan aims to utilize area land, not part of the landfill site, for a water sports center and visitor facilities. This proposal coincides with the committee's approval to extend the landfill's operational life until December 2029, which will increase waste intake to manage the mound of rubbish effectively and prepare for site restoration.
A formal planning application has not yet been submitted for the proposal of a new water sports facility that is being considered by Havering Council.
The proposed facility is planned to be built opposite the Veolia landfill site, making it a unique addition despite the waste management operations ongoing nearby.
