Thousands of ceramic poppies have returned to the Tower of London
Briefly

To honor the 80th anniversary of VE Day, the Tower of London is showcasing 30,000 ceramic poppies, originally part of a larger exhibition in 2014 that drew millions of visitors. This year's display, arranged by Tom Piper, symbolizes the lasting impact of conflict. The artwork will reflect a 'wound' at the Tower, reminding visitors of the sacrifices made during WWI. The installation will be open from May 6, 2025, until November 11, 2025, with part visible from outside for those without tickets.
"The installation, on display within the Tower's walls, will create striking images, reminding us of the sacrifice and loss of war, and of the long-lasting impact of conflict."
"Poppies will pour across the lawn overlooked by the ancient White Tower, where the blood-red flowers will form a crater, with ripples flowing outwards."
