The opening date has been revealed for Canary Wharf's massive new lido - the Olympic sized pool will open in time for summer
Sea Lanes Canary Wharf will open June 19 in east London with a 50-metre fresh water swimming pool floating on the Thames. The open-air lido will be 1.3 metres deep and include six swimming lanes for different ages and abilities, from family dips to cold-water plunges. Unlike nearby Eden Dock, Sea Lanes will be bookable year round and filled with naturally filtered freshwater that is completely separated from the river. The complex will also feature two glass-fronted saunas powered entirely by renewable energy. A community clubhouse will provide food and drink, host wellness events, and offer a wetsuit concierge service. Membership or pay-per-swim options will be available, with prices not yet announced.
"The opening date for Sea Lanes Canary Wharf has just been announced, and the outdoor pool will welcome its first keen swimmers on June 19. Prices still haven't been revealed, but we can tell you that you'll be able to choose from a membership or pay-per-swim option for more casual visits."
