Public consultation begins on Queen Elizabeth II tribute for St James's Park
Briefly

The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial project features five functional bridge designs spanning St James's Park lake, aimed at alleviating overcrowding on the existing blue bridge. The Queen Elizabeth Memorial Committee, chaired by Lord Janvrin, is inviting public feedback on the proposals, which range from simple to ornate designs. A winning design will be chosen, with the final unveiling set for 2026, coinciding with the late Queen's centenary. The initiative underscores community involvement, with a focus on commemorating the Queen's legacy and providing a viewing experience for visitors.
The designs range from simple elegant bridges to a rather fat floral-inspired design, a double-decker of a bridge, and one design that combines a bridge with viewing seats.
The Queen Elizabeth Memorial Committee is overseeing the project, chaired by the late Queen's former Private Secretary, Lord Janvrin.
The winning design will be unveiled in 2026, marking what would have been the late Queen's centenary year.
The opportunity to give feedback on the exhibition will close on Monday, 19th May 2025.
