Major timetable changes are coming to London's DLR this summer
Briefly

The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in East London is implementing a reduced timetable this summer as it prepares for the introduction of new trains, which are expected to enhance the service experience. The cutbacks, starting July 21, are timed for the school summer holidays and will focus on lower-demand areas. Customers should expect improvements including air-conditioning and USB charging on the new fleet, with the first trains set to enter service later this year. Key routes will have altered service hours, aimed at maintaining reliability during the transition.
Regular users of the DLR, listen up. The automated east London transport network is changing its timetable this summer, with TfL cutting back on services before it introduces the network's much-anticipated new trains.
The DLR's new trains were announced back in June 2023, with initial designs showing off vehicles with fancy stuff like air-conditioning and USB charging ports.
The new timetable will begin on July 21 and the full timetable will be reintroduced once enough trains are back in service.
TfL's chief capital officer Stuart Harvey said: 'The testing of the new DLR trains is progressing well and customers will start to be able to use these modern trains later this year.'
