Ladywell Fields Cafe Is Being Brought Back to Life
A cafe in Ladywell Fields is reopening after closure, led by South London locals Joel and Alina Falconer. They run Cafe Oscar's, Wilson's, and Plenty, and are transforming the space into Fields, a park cafe with toilets. The menu includes great coffee, bacon rolls and pastries in the mornings, and toasted sarnies, tater tots, and seasonal specials for lunch. During summer, soft serve and gelato are planned, along with weekend food pop-ups featuring pizza, tacos, and rotisserie chicken with booze. In winter, soups and hot chocolates will be added. The project aims to be affordable and accessible, supported by a crowdfunding campaign that reached its target in 48 hours. Fields opens on 1 June 2026, with an opening party on 31 May for the Brockley Max Festival.
"Almost a year after its closure, the cafe in Ladywell Fields is being brought back to life by South London locals Joel and Alina Falconer, who run coffee shop Cafe Oscar's, restaurant Wilson's and sustainable food shop Plenty. They're turning the space into Fields, a proper park cafe (with toilets) that serves great coffee; bacon rolls and pastries in the mornings; and toasted sarnies, tater tots, and seasonal specials for lunch."
"During the summer, there'll be soft serve and gelato on offer too, plus weekend food pop-ups featuring pizza, tacos, rotisserie chicken and booze. Come winter, soups and hot chocolates will be added to the menu. The pair are keen to make it affordable and accessible for the whole community, and it seems the community is just as excited as the crowdfunding campaign that was launched to help with the refurbishment hit its target in just 48 hours."
"Fields is officially opening on 1st June but you can get a sneak peek of what to expect at the opening party on 31st May, which is forming part of the Brockley Max Festival. Key Information Opening date | Mon 1st June 2026 Address | Ladywell Rd, London SE13 7UZ For more information | @fieldscafe"
