Pope Francis' visit to the Capuchin Centre in Dublin in August 2018 evoked emotional reactions from a diverse crowd of 100 people as he offered prayers and support for the homeless. Manager Alan Bailey reflected on the memorable experience, emphasizing the Pope's approach to treating clients with dignity, saying, 'When people come here for food, we don't ask questions.' The Pope's genuine engagement and ability to connect personally left a lasting positive impression on attendees, including those who never expected a meeting because of their homelessness.
The amazing thing is that when the news came out this morning, we'd the television on in the main hall. There were 100 people here, all different nationalities and you could see how the news hit every person straight away.
We'd have very good memories of the Pope here. He came to visit us in 2018. When people come here for food, we don't ask questions.
