Ashburton Park in Croydon has secured a £1.5 million grant from the National Lottery Fund to undertake significant renovations. This funding aims to replace the dilapidated tea kiosk with a new bandstand and address flooding issues in the park's wetlands area. As part of the '100 Years of Ashburton Park' project, improvements will preserve the park's heritage while making it more accessible and welcoming to the community. Work is set to commence this summer and will be completed by November 2028, reviving this historical green space for future generations.
This funding marks 100 years of history and honours all the communities that have enjoyed Ashburton Park as an urban sanctuary over the decades.
This funding will transform Ashburton Park into an even better space for residents now and in the future.
