On April 28, London celebrated the opening of Knightsbridge station as its 93rd step-free tube stop, featuring a new entrance on Hopper's Court and three new lifts. This significant upgrade, achieved through a partnership between TfL, Knightsbridge Estate, and Chelsfield, enhances the station's capacity and restores historical architectural features. With nearly 13 million annual passenger journeys, this upgrade facilitates access to major attractions. Although this marks progress, only 34% of London's 272 tube stations are currently step-free, with a goal to increase accessibility further.
Knightbridge's improvements are the result of a new station entrance on Hopper's Court, which was the result of TfL working with Knightsbridge Estate and developer Chelsfield.
Now anyone can get to Knightsbridge and all its attractions - Harrods, Harvey Nicks, fancy schmancy Kensington shops, Hyde Park - step-free.
