"'Across the country, people take real pride in where they come from. Our local arts, museums and libraries are a big part of that, telling our stories, reflecting who we are, and bringing communities together. That's why our Arts Everywhere Fund matters.'"
"'As the cost of living continues to affect families across Britain, funding for these venues will help provide welcoming, affordable spaces for communities to visit, come together and celebrate what makes their local area special.'"
The Arts Everywhere Fund allocates £130 million to major London arts venues, including the Southbank Centre and the London Transport Museum. This funding aims to improve access to the arts and enhance cultural infrastructure. The Southbank Centre will receive £10 million, while the Royal Ballet and Opera will get £5 million. The Museum Estate and Development Fund has also allocated £25.5 million to 28 museums for essential upgrades. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy emphasized the importance of local arts in reflecting community identity and providing affordable spaces for families.
