The British Library is getting an enormous 1.1 billion expansion
Briefly

The British Library is set to undergo a significant £1.1 billion renovation approved by Camden council, thanks to backing from Japanese developers. The expansion aims to enhance public access with new entrances, exhibition galleries, and a learning center, alongside a considerable increase in commercial space targeting science and life sciences businesses. To foster community involvement, a garden will be constructed, and the project promises to contribute £23 million to affordable housing and career development opportunities in Camden.
The plans will open up the Library even further, creating an expanded national library with state-of-the-art new spaces, harnessing the power of collaboration to build a new public realm linking communities.
The British Library is getting a new foyer, new public entrances, and around 100,000 square feet of new public space including a new learning center and exhibition galleries.
