"Even if you've been out of education for decades, there's a real back-to-school energy in the air. After several blissful months of heat waves, beer garden gatherings, al fresco dining and day festivals, the rainy days, earlier sunsets and colder nights have got us all ready for hibernation."
"Of course, to enjoy the best of what London's got going on, you'll probably need to take public transport. The bad news is that travelling around the city will be a little trickier on Sunday (Sep 7) when London Underground workers begin a period of industrial action. But there will be other options. Here's all the travel disruption this weekend that you need to know about."
London Underground services will be affected by industrial action starting Sunday, September 7, with limited services on all Underground lines. Transport for London advises travellers to complete journeys by 6pm. The London Overground and Elizabeth line will continue to run. The Central line will be partly closed on Saturday, with no services between Marble Arch and Loughton/Hainault (via Newbury Park) between 1am and 5.30am. From 5.30am there will be no Central line trains between Liverpool Street and Woodford/Newbury Park. Autumn events across the city will still take place but public-transport journeys may require alternative options.
