Irizar e-mobility has signed a contract with London Gatwick Airport to provide 14 electric buses, the first of its kind for the terminal. These 18-metre long vehicles will transport passengers from long stay car parks to the airport. The buses will utilize Irizar's latest battery technology and ultra-fast charging systems, enabling a full charge in under six minutes. Safety features include digital vision cameras for enhanced visibility, alongside luggage racks to improve passenger comfort and functionality. Irizar aims to expand its electric bus operations in the UK while moving to a new facility in 2025.
Irizar e-mobility has signed a contract with London Gatwick Airport to supply 14 zero-emission electric buses, the first fleet for the terminal. These 18-metre long buses will connect the long stay car parks to the airport.
The buses, using Irizar's latest generation batteries, will feature an ultra-fast pantograph system for charging that takes less than six minutes for a full charge.
For improved passenger experience, these Irizar ie trams will include luggage racks for added comfort and functionality.
In a bid to enhance safety, each vehicle will be equipped with advanced digital vision cameras for better visibility in all directions.
