""It's a wonder and a miracle - true Magic Castle magic! The top floor offices and attic are pretty wrecked, but ALL of our important history [is] safe, sound, and undamaged!""
""Those of us in the office smelled smoke and immediately sprung into action and called LAFD and successfully and calmly evacuated the building. Everyone is safe.""
""If the fire happened just one month earlier, the reaction would've been slower (more fire damage) and the damage from the water would've been unquantifiable and impossible to recover.""
A fire broke out at the Magic Castle, a historic Hollywood venue, but damage was minimal. Owner Randy Pitchford reported that important artifacts and history were unharmed. The fire started during roof renovations, and about 200 people were evacuated safely. Pitchford noted that if the fire had occurred earlier, the damage could have been much worse. The Los Angeles Fire Department is investigating the cause but has not confirmed details as of now.
