London's Royal Observatory's planetarium is set to close for more than two years beginning September 8, 2023. This shutdown is part of a £77 million renovation project named First Light that commemorates the observatory's 350th anniversary. The planned renovations will include a new entry pavilion, accessible routes, refreshed galleries, and additional spaces for visitors. The public can still attend shows until the closure, with special screenings and children's activities scheduled for the final month of operation.
