Funding confirmed to progress plan to upgrade Kidbrooke station

The Government has confirmed funding to progress plans for an upgrade of Kidbrooke station, which is among 50 stations to receive step-free access improvements.
Currently, there is no direct step-free access to platform 2 at Kidbrooke station, forcing passengers to walk more than 300 metres over a road bridge.
Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander has confirmed that a feasibility study for the upgrade works at the station would be funded through part of £92 billion allocated to road and rail projects.
Funding for the upgrade will come from the Department for Transport (DfT) Access for All fund, which supports accessibility improvements at railway stations across Britain.
