East London is getting a brand new train station
"'We have always said that we would do all we can to ensure Beam Park station is built. We are grateful for the support from the Ministry for Homes, Communities, and Local Government (MHCLG) Homes Accelerator in helping to get to this point.'"
"'The station is much needed for Beam Park and neighbouring Dagenham, which will enable housing and business growth in this key area.'"
Beam Park station on the c2c line has received final approval after years of planning since 2002. The housing secretary confirmed its accommodation within the existing rail network to expedite housing development. The station will connect Dagenham Dock and Rainham, reducing travel time to London Fenchurch Street to 20 minutes. The station is part of a larger redevelopment, with over 1,100 homes completed and 1,200 under construction, potentially unlocking 20,000 more homes in the area. Funding efforts are underway to realize the station's construction.
