Bakerloop express bus service to start on Saturday with free travel offer
"The Bakerloo line extension's long-term rail replacement bus service, the Bakerloop, will start carrying passengers from this weekend in a fleet of brown buses. And travel on the Bakerloop will be free of charge for the first week. Officially the BL1 express bus, but for obvious reasons nicknamed the Bakerloop, it will be a "superloop" bus service calling at just a few stops along the route, which will mirror above ground the proposed Bakerloo line extension below ground."
"The BL1 vehicles will be fully electric and offer USB chargers at seats, as well as dedicated priority seating moquettes. The route will run every 12 minutes during weekdays and every 15 minutes on Sundays, evenings, and early mornings. For the first week's free travel offer, pay-as-you-go customers will still be required to touch in as they board the bus as usual, but won't be charged."
"The times of first buses will be 04:55 from Waterloo and at 05:00 from Lewisham on all days of the week. Last buses will depart Waterloo at 00:30 and 00:35 from Lewisham on all days of the week. Although a train trip would still be considerably quicker from end to end, for bus users, it will cut the journey time from around 52 minutes to around 38 minutes."
