A Week of Blooms: Chelsea and Belgravia's FREE floral trail begins
"Just as the Chelsea Flower Show prepares to open, a free flower show is filling the streets of Chelsea and Belgravia. The Chelsea/Belgravia in Bloom shows are put on by the shops and are a free delight for everyone to enjoy. Each year is themed, and for Chelsea it's Out of this world, while Belgravia is going for Fairy Tales of Belgravia with installations reflecting spring, summer, autumn and winter."
"The displays run from Monday 18th May 2026 to Sunday 24th May 2026 and are all free to visit. More venues participate in the Chelsea display, which tends to be more compact, filling the main streets around Sloane Square, whereas Belgravia's display is more scattered around the streets. My tip is to get the map from the Belgravia website to help, but start with Chelsea as it's easier to see more with less walking, and then wander over to Belgravia afterwards."
"The displays range from those who clearly took the brief seriously to those who pile on the flowers, but are still just as magnificent to look at. Nill points to the shop that thought a vinyl decal on the windows would suffice, massive points to the blue bank for their almost glowingly blue display, and the black horse bank has a horse, obviously. The dragon is astonishing."
"You could add a third event if you visit on Saturday 23rd May in the late afternoon, as that's when the Chelsea Flower Show closes, and at 4pm, many of the plants and flowers are sold to the attendees inside. So, head to Chelsea Bridge Road from about 4pm onwards to see hundreds of people staggering up the road laden with huge bundles"
Free flower show displays appear across Chelsea and Belgravia as shops create themed installations. Chelsea follows an “Out of this world” theme with compact displays concentrated around main streets near Sloane Square. Belgravia follows “Fairy Tales of Belgravia” with installations spread across surrounding streets and reflecting spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Venues range from minimal interpretations to highly elaborate floral displays, including standout window decals, a glowing blue bank display, a horse-themed bank, and an astonishing dragon. The displays run from Monday 18 May 2026 to Sunday 24 May 2026 and are free to visit. A bonus opportunity occurs on Saturday 23 May after the Chelsea Flower Show closes, when plants and flowers are sold at 4pm.
