His departure follows a disappointing performance, with the team losing five of their last six matches, including a recent defeat to Derby County, severely denting playoff prospects. Mowbray, who had previously guided the team to the Premier League, oversaw only five wins in 18 league games during this tenure. The club is now searching for their seventh permanent manager in under six years.

Mowbray returned in February for a second stint following Carlos Corberan's departure to Valencia. However, he oversaw just five wins from 18 league games.
