Sir Alex, 'unbelievable' Braga & Tynecastle keep Hearts on course
"We got him a nice bottle to take home with him but he opened it already. We all know he likes his red wine. I'm just glad he saw the team win, he saw Tynecastle the way it was today. - Derek McInnes on Sir Alex Ferguson's visit"
"With the stands behind us, the players gave everything and we just won. Now we're getting to a point with maybe just a little bit more tension. We feel it from the stands a little bit. It's normal. At the same time, we know we can do this. - Claudio Braga"
Hearts defeated Aberdeen 1-0 at home to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to seven points with nine games remaining. Sir Alex Ferguson, who last broke Celtic and Rangers' dominance by winning the title with Aberdeen in 1985, attended the match as a guest of honour. Hearts manager Derek McInnes has consulted with Ferguson throughout the season. Claudio Braga scored the winning goal, with the Portuguese forward emblematic of Hearts' season after joining from Norwegian football. Braga has scored 15 goals in 35 appearances this season. Hearts' victory represents their second consecutive home win and moves them closer to ending four decades of Glasgow club dominance in Scottish football.
