Millwall announce 300,000 loss in annual accounts
"The 2024-25 season represented one of real change at the football club, with record level of playing squad and infrastructure investment in line with our long-term plan. The catalyst for this change was helped through the sale of Zian and Romain and allowed for the reinvestment of these proceeds to drive the club forward on all fronts."
"During the year, the chairman invested a further 15.7m into the club and the support of the Berylson family, along with their passion and drive is invaluable to the club, and we remain extremely appreciative of this support and commitment."
Millwall announced a pre-tax loss of £300,000 for the most recent financial year, a substantial improvement from the previous year's £19.1m loss. The improvement was driven by £21.6m in profit from player sales, including Zian Flemming to Burnley and Romain Esse to Crystal Palace. The club invested heavily in infrastructure, spending £7.4m on training facilities including purchasing the freehold to Calmont Road training ground. Wage costs increased 12% to £28.6m, representing 120% of total revenue. Chairman James Berylson invested an additional £15.7m into the club. Total revenue increased £2.5m to £29.3m, largely from new EFL broadcasting rights with Sky Sports, though matchday income slightly declined to £7.3m due to reduced season ticket sales.
