Liverpool to play Wrexham at Yankee Stadium in July
"We are all looking forward to returning to the US as part of our pre-season preparations. We have had terrific support on our last trips to the States, and we can't wait to see our supporters out there again, while also playing against three quality opponents in matches that will play a key part in us getting ready for the 2026/27 campaign."
"Wrexham may even travel to the U.S. as a Premier League club, having enjoyed an excellent return to England's second tier. Parkinson's side currently sit in sixth place in the Championship, a three-game winning streak having propelled them four points above Southampton, their nearest challengers for the final playoff spot."
Wrexham, owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob MacElhenney, will embark on their third U.S. tour in July, playing preseason matches against Leeds United, Sunderland, and Liverpool at various American venues, including Yankee Stadium. This marks the first time Wrexham plays at the Yankees' home. Manager Phil Parkinson expressed enthusiasm about returning to the U.S., citing strong supporter engagement from previous tours in 2023 and 2024. Wrexham currently sits sixth in the Championship with promotion aspirations for the 2026/27 season. The Liverpool match will be their first meeting since a 2007 friendly, with their last competitive fixture occurring in 1978.
