"He is really a lively boy, a smart player, good dribbler, fast, can use both legs. He's good. It was nice to watch, really nice to watch - him coming in and immediately a lot of things are obviously natural to him, which is really helpful."
"There's no getting away from it, Ben's having a really good time of it at the moment. He's playing some good football and looking dangerous. The opportunity for him to come here and play and be part of the squad - he's obviously confident. We know his strengths, it's pretty obvious what he's good at and he's taken that on to Scotland as well."
Ben Doak joined Liverpool's youth team in July 2022 at age 16 after leaving Celtic. He made his first-team debut in a League Cup match against Derby County in November 2022, earning praise from manager Jurgen Klopp for his natural ability, dribbling skills, and pace. Doak signed his first professional contract shortly after and made ten senior appearances while continuing youth development. During the 2024/25 season, Liverpool loaned Doak to Championship side Middlesbrough, where he flourished as a right winger. He quickly became the team's most dangerous attacking player, contributing 10 goals and assists in the first half of the season and earning recognition from manager Michael Carrick for his confident, threatening performances.
