Neil McCann, assistant at Rangers, praised interim head coach Barry Ferguson for disproving doubts about his qualifications for the role. Since taking over after Philippe Clement's departure, Ferguson has led Rangers to the Europa League quarter-finals and secured a historic win against Celtic. He aims to instill the same determination and character in the team that he showed as a player. With upcoming challenges in both the Europa League and Premiership, the board's decision to change management indicates a desire for results to support Ferguson's continued tenure.
I think that a lot of people maybe thought from his coaching CV that he maybe wouldn't even be ready to even take this position. I think he's proved that wrong.
There's a mindset that I think the gaffer was wanting to change coming in. He felt that that had to be switched a wee bit and I definitely believe that we've got something there.
When a board makes a change in management team then clearly they are looking for a reaction and want results. All we can do is try and get them.
I think we're showing that we've got a wee bit of guts about us. We've got a determination.
