Ex-Premier League goalkeeper buys club he manages
Briefly

Following months of uncertainty regarding its future, Farsley Celtic has announced that David Stockdale and his family will be acquiring the club. Recent seasons have seen the club face significant challenges, including relegation from the National League North to the ninth tier after being denied an FA licence. Financial issues led to club chairman Paul Barthorpe stepping down. A delay in installing a new 4G pitch forced the team to play nearly 70 miles away in Buxton. The purchase is pending final legal steps, and Stockdale expresses optimism about the future.
The club can confirm that the Stockdale family has agreed with the major shareholders to acquire 100% of FC 2010 (Holdings) Ltd.
After relegation from National League North, the side were moved to the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.
Delays installing a new 4G pitch at home ground the Citadel resulted in Farsley playing their home fixtures almost 70 miles away in Buxton.
Posting on Facebook, Stockdale, who also played for clubs including Sheffield Wednesday, Brighton and Birmingham, said: 'Time to get started. Exciting times.'
