A large mural dedicated to football legend Denis Law is under construction in Aberdeen, his hometown. Law, who had an illustrious career mainly with Manchester United, passed away on January 17 at the age of 84. Renowned artist Jerome Davenport is leading the project, which commemorates Law's significant accomplishments, including being Scotland's joint top scorer. This tribute follows a statue unveiled in 2021, highlighting Law's lasting impact on football and his community. His family noted the challenges he faced with Alzheimer's and dementia prior to his death.
“Law was capped 55 times for his country. His 30 goals made him Scotland's joint top scorer of all time alongside Kenny Dalglish.”
“In 2021, Sir Alex Ferguson helped unveil a statue honouring his fellow football legend in Aberdeen. At the time Law said he was 'humbled' by the honour in his 'beloved Aberdeen'.”
