Despite becoming a popular figure at Anfield, Nunez struggled to adapt to his coaches' tactics, starting only eight Premier League games last season.
Liverpool had hoped to recoup 60m for Nunez, rejecting 60m from Al-Nassr in January and a bid from Napoli earlier this window.
