They argue the fund endangers their lives and safety by encouraging further violence and by directly financing violent operations of rioters, paramilitaries, and supporters who threatened them. The fund is described as a settlement mechanism tied to a lawsuit Trump filed against the IRS after a contractor released his tax returns. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche will appoint a five-member commission to hear claims and decide compensation eligibility. Trump said the fund reimburses people he described as horribly treated.
