A Westbury man, Deondre Clark, 35, was arrested after an early-morning crash on the Meadowbrook State Parkway in Hempstead. State police said Clark was driving a 2025 Toyota Camry north near exit M5 when he rear-ended a 2015 Honda Pilot at about 2:48 a.m. The impact ejected a passenger from the Honda Pilot, and that passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver and two passengers in the Honda Pilot were treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries. Clark was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, DWI, and reckless driving, with investigators citing unsafe speed. The crash remains under investigation, and witnesses were asked to contact Troop L.
