The officer requested a ride from Roisin Dubh pub to Tubbercurry Town Square, paying €20 upon arrival. Plotkin had no valid taxi certificates on his vehicle. When questioned by gardaí, Plotkin claimed he enjoyed driving and was unaware of legal requirements. The defense solicitor challenged the officer's account, questioning the location details and discrepancies regarding the payment amount between testimony and written statement.
