Opus 2 Steps Up Its AI Game With Acquisition Of A Legal Tech Startup - Above the Law
"Everything that Opus 2 has been known for in the litigation space, that's still here as a core part of the platform. What we're doing now is adding a more streamlined UI option, and additional AI functionality."
"Opus 2 has been known for 15 years as an industry-leading case management and case preparation solution where dispute teams organize documents, transcripts, issues, chronologies and key actors into a structured case strategy. It's still comprehensive and configurable, which is why it has long occupied the space between eDiscovery and trial presentation."
"As a startup, we were able to really differentiate ourselves. Now together we both had this shared goal of bringing AI-driven functionality into the hands of more lawyers."
Opus 2, a litigation management software provider, acquired Dutch legal tech startup Uncover to advance its AI capabilities and improve usability. The platform traditionally served as a centralized case management solution where dispute teams organize documents, transcripts, issues, chronologies, and key actors into structured case strategies. The enhancement introduces a Focused View alongside the existing Detailed View, leveraging large-language model AI to provide simplified access to case information through a chatbot-like interface. Users can toggle between both views with a single click. The core functionality remains unchanged, maintaining Opus 2's position between eDiscovery and trial presentation as a comprehensive situation room for complex litigation matters.
