More than 120 scholars, practitioners, and former judges have signed a Florida Bar complaint against Pam Bondi. The complaint follows an earlier effort in June 2025 that the Bar declined, citing a rule against investigating or prosecuting sitting officers appointed under the U.S. Constitution while they are in office. The renewed complaint argues that Bondi is no longer a sitting U.S.-appointed officer because she has returned to private-sector work and because Todd Blanche’s role as Acting Attorney General indicates a change in status. The lead signatory is Peggy Quince, joined by retired federal judges Nancy Gertner and Michael. The complaint is intended to prompt disciplinary authorities to act.
"Joining her are retired federal judges Nancy Gertner and Michael . The lead signatory on the renewed complaint is Peggy Quince, the retired Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court. The former Chief Justice of the state's highest court placing her name at the top of an ethics complaint should grab the attention of disciplinary authorities. Joining her are retired federal judges Nancy Gertner and Michael ."
