The Bronx Supreme Court and Bronx Bar Association held a Black History Month celebration honoring a century of Black leadership and contributions. The event was sponsored by the Gender Fairness Committee and the Equal Justice Initiative Committee of the 12th Judicial District and was moderated by Justice Kim Adair Wilson. Participants included Hon. Norman St. George and Joey Jackson, with Joseph Zayas noting the large presence of African-American judges and attorneys. Speakers reflected on family migration stories, professional legacies, progress beyond Jim Crow, and present challenges such as unlawful ICE arrests, attacks on critical race theory, and book banning.
