The indictment includes third-degree felonies: assault on a public servant for allegedly striking a prosecutor in the head on March 20, 2024, during plea negotiations; tampering with a witness for allegedly instructing a person named in a Jan. 31 arrest warrant to obtain an affidavit of nonprosecution; and tampering with a government document for allegedly concealing an arrest warrant on Jan. 10, 2024. Misdemeanor counts include hindering apprehension for failing to sign a Jan. 3 arrest warrant and abuse of official capacity for practicing law in December 2023 while serving as a judge. Attempts to contact Britton by email and through his chambers were not returned.
