Erika Girardi ended a long legal dispute by settling a $25 million bankruptcy lawsuit in Los Angeles federal court. The lawsuit alleged she should have known that money tied to her ex-husband Tom Girardi’s fraudulent scheme was funding her singing career. Tom Girardi was convicted of wire fraud in 2024 and is serving a seven-year federal prison sentence for stealing tens of millions from his former law firm, Girardi Keese. Court records indicated Erika Jayne spent millions more than she earned as a musician. Plaintiffs argued she received benefits from the fraudulent scheme, while Erika stated in depositions that she had no knowledge of her husband’s crimes and did not know the source of the funds used for recording, tours, merchandise, and outfits.

Tom Girardi is currently serving a seven-year sentence in federal prison after he was convicted of wire fraud for bilking his personal-injury clients in 2024. The disgraced former attorney was found to have stolen tens of millions from his firm."
"In depositions taken as part of the suit, Erika said she had no knowledge of her husband's crimes. She claimed to be ignorant about where the millions she spent on recording, merchandise, tours and "fun, playful, and sparkly outfits" were drawn from. "I did not know how much I spent per month or per year,""
