Jean Pierre Mathieu (46) of Kilglass, Enniscrone was charged at Falduff, Tubbercurry on November 13, 2024 with failing to produce a driving licence, driving without insurance, and failing to produce a certificate of insurance. He was also charged at Aderavoher, Easkey on June 12, 2024 with driving without insurance and failing to produce insurance. The court heard he had eight previous convictions and that this was his fifth conviction for driving without insurance. Judge Ciaran Liddy disqualified him for five years on both offences to run concurrently and imposed a six-month sentence suspended for one year on condition he did not drive in a public place. Lina Semenaviciute (56) of River Road, Cartron Point, Sligo faced a careless driving charge at Lidl Car park on April 9, 2024 after a pedestrian was struck by a car that failed to stop; the pedestrian was visibly impaired and hit Semenaviciute’s windscreen before being thrown to the ground, and she had no previous convictions.
