Enoch Burke was freed from Mountjoy Prison by a High Court judge despite not purging his contempt. Burke told the High Court that if released that day he would be at his workplace the following day. A judge responded that Burke's ability to 'shoot yourself in the foot' was unparalleled in the judge's experience. Burke left Mountjoy Prison on Wednesday and arrived outside Wilson's Hospital School less than 24 hours after his release. Burke is a schoolteacher. The High Court's decision enabled his rapid return to the school despite unresolved contempt proceedings.
