"Federal prosecutors said the verdict validates accounts of women who accused the brothers of exploiting access to luxury travel and nightlife to facilitate assaults. The truth is sex trafficking and other federal sex offenses are present in many walks of life, and we have not done enough to root it out, U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton stated."
"Prosecutors told jurors that more than 60 women have accused one or more of the brothers of rape or sexual assault. Several reportedly testified they met the men at nightclubs, parties or through dating apps and later accepted invitations to luxury trips including stays in the Hamptons, travel to Aspen, Colorado and a Caribbean cruise."
"One woman told jurors she met the brothers at a 2012 party at actor Zac Efron's Manhattan apartment before going to a nightclub later that night. She testified that she woke up naked with Alon Alexander standing over her. I don't want to have sex with you, she testified telling him. Haha, you already did, she recalled him replying as he laughed in her face."
Three brothers—Oren, Tal, and Alon Alexander—were convicted of sex trafficking and federal sex offenses. U.S. District Judge Valerie E. Caproni scheduled sentencing for August 6, with the brothers facing decades in prison. They have been jailed since their 2024 arrests. Prosecutors presented testimony from more than 60 women accusing one or more brothers of rape or sexual assault. Accusers testified they met the men at nightclubs, parties, or through dating apps and were invited to luxury trips including stays in the Hamptons, Aspen, and Caribbean cruises. Several women reported their drinks may have been tampered with and described losing bodily control. Defense attorneys argued encounters were consensual and challenged the reliability of accusers' recollections. The convictions will be appealed.
