"Call the cops. It's 1-800-WHO CARES. No gay people."
"Yes, gay people. Yes, people! Just leave people alone. Let them be who they are."
"I made some poor decisions that led to my rightful arrest and termination from my career at the funeral home,"
A Pride Progress flag outside the Evolution Candy shop was torn down while owner James Lamb briefly stepped away. Two 10-year-olds witnessed the act and the suspect responded with anti-gay remarks when they said they would call police. Surveillance footage captured the suspect pulling down the flag. Police in Doylestown, Pennsylvania identified the suspect as 60-year-old James Mellon, who appeared intoxicated or to have a limp in the video. Police charged Mellon with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. The shop owner reported this was the fourth targeting of the shop. A separate October incident involved a man removing a Starbucks Pride flag and later facing arrest, charges, property damage estimates, job loss, and an appeal acknowledging poor decisions.
