Notts Pride condemns commercial event using its name: 'Misleading'
"Since 1997 Nottingham Pride has existed with one purpose: to support, uplift and represent the LGBTQ+ community in Nottinghamshire. Nottingham Pride is a small authentically LGBTQ+ volunteer run charity,"
"No one takes a wage and every hour of work is given freely out of love, solidarity and commitment to our community."
"This is not Nottingham Pride,"
Notts Pride will host its annual free Pride event on 25 July 2026 in Nottingham. Groovebox, Live Republic, Binks Yard and Horlock House are jointly running a paid event called Nottingham Pride Fest on the same day, with tickets priced £16.75–£29.95. Notts Pride reports that the similar name and scheduling have caused confusion, reputational harm and a false impression of affiliation. Notts Pride is a small, volunteer-run LGBTQ+ charity operating since 1997 that delivers a free, accessible and safe Pride. No one takes a wage and all work is unpaid volunteer effort. Notts Pride insists Nottingham Pride Fest is not Nottingham Pride.
