'LGBTQ+ museum lets community tell their stories'

Queer Britain is the UK's only dedicated LGBTQ+ museum, based in King's Cross, London, founded in 2022 and reopened after refurbishment for LGBTQ+ History Month. The museum spotlights figures who shaped community history alongside cultural spaces and memorials. Exhibits include a display for footballer Justin Fashanu with a Norwich City LGBT+ supporters' group banner, a panel from the UK Aids Memorial Quilt remembering those who died, and an exhibit dedicated to Club Kali documenting three decades of South Asian LGBTQ+ nightlife through photographs and distinctive outfits.
