""The aim of what we do is to bring joy to people," Jacques said of their content."
""It took me a while to process it," he said, adding: "It didn't feel real, even when he said it. I almost blacked out and couldn't really fathom what had happened.""
""It was shocking. It shook me up. I didn't feel like leaving the house the day after. I felt very emotional. It's not okay," he said."
"'I don't think anyone should have to go through that,' he said, adding: 'I will not tolerate it anymore.'"
Jerome and Jacques are a couple of eight years who share Russian Blue Lupin, known as a therapy cat, and Bengal Rajah. Their Instagram content has attracted around 140,000 followers by offering free pet therapy and feel-good posts aimed to bring joy to Londoners. On 18 January Jerome was subjected to a homophobic slur while walking Lupin in a public park, captured the encounter on camera, posted the footage to Instagram, and reported the incident to the Met Police. The pair had prior unsettling encounters with the same person, and Jerome said the abuse left him shocked, emotional, and resolved not to tolerate it anymore.
