"As a transgender woman, the past year has been defined by fear, instability, and constant vigilance. The administration has actively moved to take away my medically necessary hormone therapy while simultaneously undermining basic civil rights including legal identification, passport recognition, and even the right to safely use a restroom. I've spent enormous emotional energy fighting insurance denials, preparing for care interruptions, and worrying whether my existence will continue to be treated as political leverage rather than a matter of human dignity and survival."

Transgender and queer individuals describe a year marked by fear, instability, and constant vigilance. Medical care has been threatened through efforts to remove access to hormone therapy and through insurance denials that create interruptions in essential treatment. Legal recognition has been undermined, affecting identification documents and passport recognition and limiting safe access to everyday spaces. Families and individuals report displacement and repeated moves to escape anti-trans policies, exhausting resources and increasing precarity. Large public protests have arisen in response to a wide range of policy attacks affecting education, healthcare, research, and civil rights.
