Former professional hockey player Harrison Browne, the first out transgender professional hockey player, publicly criticized the USA Men's hockey team for their association with Donald Trump and FBI Director Kash Patel after winning Olympic gold. Browne highlighted controversial videos of Patel celebrating with the team in the locker room, drinking beer and partying with players. He also referenced the team's acceptance of a presidential phone call inviting them to the State of the Union address, during which they laughed at a joke made at the women's team's expense. Critics pointed out the hypocrisy of GOP claims about protecting women's sports while showing little genuine support for female athletes.
