Drag Race icon Marina Summers comes out as trans in touching statement
"The star shared that she has always felt feminine, but had "poured that energy" into living her life at full speed. "Becoming the person I've always seen myself as felt like something I'd get to 'later', something I gently pushed to the side while I tried to catch every other dream first," she said. "But last year, I finally gave myself permission to stop pausing. And start my transition.""
"She said that she chose to keep her transition news to her "innermost circle" as she needed "space to feel it, to heal, to simply exist in [her] own skin without the outside noise". She continued: "Now, I'm ready to open the door a little wider and let you all into my journey... From hereon, I'd love for you all to get to know me more as the woman I'm becoming. Hello again my friends, it's me, Marina.""
Marina Summers announced on Instagram that she began socially transitioning in early 2025 and started hormone replacement therapy later that year. She described the decision as one of the best things that has happened to her and said she has always felt feminine but previously poured that energy into living life at full speed. She postponed transition while pursuing other dreams but gave herself permission to stop pausing and begin changing. She kept the process private within her innermost circle to have space to feel, heal and simply exist. She now invites fans to know her as the woman she is becoming. Marina first rose to prominence on Drag Race Philippines and gained wider recognition on RuPaul's Drag Race UK Vs The World Season 2.
