Capital awash with colour as Taoiseach leads Pride parade
Briefly

Around 12,500 people participated in a pride parade in Dublin as Ireland marked a decade of marriage equality. Although festivities attracted up to 100,000 attendees for the milestone festival, many expressed disappointment over several companies withdrawing from the event. Concerns arose from U.S. President Donald Trump's anti-diversity policies. Participants from countries with less public support for LGBTQ+ rights emphasized the significance of corporate sponsorship in advocating for visibility and support. Voices from both local youths and international attendees illustrated both solidarity and apprehension regarding perceived regressions in LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance.
"In Croatia, Pride isn't something that has a lot of public support. The government support it in a way because it has to but there is not much visibility from private companies and very limited support from celebrities."
"I feel there has been a shift in the world and it kind of feels like we are going backwards. We didn't conquer much in the past few years but, the little bit we did conquer, it feels we are losing."
