Amber Glenn is a bisexual and pansexual member of Team USA and the first out LGBTQ+ woman to compete in Olympic figure skating. Glenn posted a TikTok holding her team event gold medal alongside photos of teammate Alyssa Liu, captioning the post "They hate to see two woke b****hes winning." Glenn defined "woke" as people who use their platforms to advocate for marginalized communities they represent. Glenn briefly stepped away from social media after receiving hateful comments for speaking out for LGBTQ+ rights, then returned with the TikTok. A record 47 out LGBTQ+ athletes compete in the 2026 Olympics, including eight from the United States. A reporter's question about the president's treatment of LGBTQ+ people prompted Glenn to say she hopes to "try and encourage people to stay strong in these hard times."
