Bad Boyfriends returns for season two with Olivia Attwood-Dack returning as host. The series will include its first same-sex couple among the cast. The programme sends eight alleged bad boyfriends to a Greek island under the guise of a manhood and bromance series, then reveals the true aim: to confront their behaviour and improve their relationships. Partners arrive unexpectedly to expose and address issues. Casting required couples with genuine history, relationship problems, and willingness to film sensitive moments. Season one lacked a suitable same-sex pairing, but season two found a couple who fit the show's needs.
"Eight unsuspecting bad boyfriends will be flown to a Greek island under the premise of filming a series about manhood and bromance in a hedonistic holiday mecca, before getting the shock of their lives when Olivia appears to announce their wild partying days are on hold and to reveal the true purpose of the show - to whip them into better boyfriend shape. "All at the behest of their long-suffering girlfriends, whose surprise, dramatic arrivals cause mayhem."
"It was a no brainer. We wanted one last series but you know what it's like with these things. "I think as viewers people kind of forget how much goes into finding couples. It's a very specific thing they're looking for," she said.
"You're looking for couples with real history, a real relationship with issues there and they're willing to bring them to camera. There's so many layers to that."
"It wasn't an intent discussion not to have one in series one, we just didn't find a couple that fitted what we needed for the show. "This series there was a couple that made sense and they wanted to share their story with us and they're amazing."
