The Tavistock was the only NHS centre for trans youth care and has been replaced by regional hubs across England and Wales. The coroner urged clinics to reduce waiting lists to lower mental health risks. A campaign group called the death a direct consequence of a system that delays care. A report indicated some patients could face waits of up to 224 years for a first appointment.
